The 2005 non-domestic rates list has come to an end. As of the 31st March 2010, the last appeals against 2005 values were submitted. The Valuation Office Agency ceased to acknowledge new appeals for 2005 – 2010 assessments at midnight. Going forward, all appeals lodged before this cut-off will be processed and given consideration, however any fresh appeals will be based on the new 2010 – 2015 values, with an effective date of 1st April 2010. There are exceptions to this closing date, for example cases for appealing 2005 values can be made subsequent to a relevant or similar Valuation Tribunal or Lands Tribunal decision, however, even this exception is available for a limited time, until 30th September 2010. Our advice?
