A Hat trick of qualifiers in May.
Whilst I am one step behind my newly qualified colleagues Suki Kaur and Alex Eagleton who have just both become fully qualified, I did however reach a milestone last week not just personally but also within Harris Lamb. To say I was a ‘guinea pig’ is a bit cruel I think. ‘Trail blazing’ is how I’d prefer to phrase it, and I am now an RICS Associate, with the professional letters AssocRICS after my name.
Anyhow as someone who left school at 16, having been at Harris Lamb for 6 years I have had the opportunity to pursue a vocational career with the training sitting alongside my day job as an assistant surveyor working principally in the Stoke on Trent office.
I have been lucky enough working with Andy Groves and Keith Watkeys in Stoke with most of my of my work being Agency, peppered with some management and rent review experience.
As the RICS say; ‘The Associate qualification provides a route to RICS membership for people without a degree. It recognises relevant work experience and vocational qualifications, providing a stepping stone to Chartered Status’.
I love my job and I really like the range of work I get involved with, what I want to do to continue learning and push my knowledge forward – more deals hopefully too!
It’s been a good spring season at Harris Lamb for qualification and I am pleased to be one of our successes.
