Richer and richer!
The good news just keeps on coming for Birmingham.
In recent months, it seems not a week goes by without some positive accolade or another for the city, and with every one, those of us living and working in the second city seem to stand up a little straighter.
This week, Birmingham has been named the fourth most prosperous city in the UK – behind London, Cambridge and Reading as the number of millionaires living here soars.
Barclays Research states that there are now 32,000 people in the West Midlands having reached the £1 million threshold, a 33 per cent increase over the past five years as the economic recovery continues.
Which is what makes it such a fantastic place to live and work. Back in December, Harris Lamb forecast a successful year after figures in 2014 reached a record high for the business, and we’ve not been disappointed, using every positive achievement for the city to our advantage as more businesses choose to locate and invest in a Birmingham postcode.
Continued investment into the city means that rental levels and yields are now beginning to surpass those pre-recession, something which savvy developers and investors are taking notice of and capitalizing on.
With so many opportunities on our doorstep – Grand Central will throw open its doors in just one month, and the much anticipated Bicester Village rival Resorts World won’t be far behind – interest in the city is ever increasing and those in the know are keen to make hay while the sun shines on the city.
Long may it continue to shine!
