Harris Lamb, acting on behalf of land-owners Barpro, has sold 2 Sherwood Road, Bromsgrove for a brand new retail park development.

The 4.2 acre site was marketed by Harris Lamb and sold on a conditional basis to Stratford Upon Avon-based developers Chase Commercial, who plan to transform the former industrial site into a multi-million pound retail park. Work will start immediately.

The development, which was approved by Bromsgrove District Council, includes two retail units – 25,000 sq ft and 9,000 sq ft – and parking for 161 cars.  It will help bring new jobs and investment into the area.

West Bromwich-based Anglo Holt Construction has been appointed as the contractor for the project.

Becky Yates, development manager at Chase Commercial, said leases for the two retail units had already been agreed with DIY chain Homebase and Pets at Home.

The sale is the latest achievement to mark Harris Lamb’s growing presence in the retail agency market.

Charles D’Auncey, Head of Agency, said: “This new scheme will bring added life and vitality to the Sherwood Road area of the town. The sale of any site on a conditional basis is never an easy deal to negotiate, the upsides in value creation can be significant and achieving the best deal for the site owners was at the heart of this deal.

“Chase Midland has a good track record in delivering these types of schemes and we were happy that they could successfully partner our clients in bringing the site forward for retail use” said Charles.
