The site is bordered by a mixture of woodland, agricultural land and private housing. The area is predominantly rural yet is close to significant conurbations.

The land consists of open field and woodland approached form a private drive of Wood Lane.

The site has previously been used by youth organisations for camping and events.

Two public footpaths run through the site.
