HARRIS LAMB EXPANDS PLANNING TEAM WITH NEW APPOINTMENT
Harris Lamb has further expanded its Planning Consultancy team with the appointment of experienced planner Laura Saich.
Laura joins further to spending more than five years with Malvern Hills District Council, during which time she completed a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Birmingham.
She now aims to secure Chartered status with the Royal Institute of Town Planning with the support of Harris Lamb’s in-house mentoring programme.
Simon Hawley, Director of Harris Lamb’s Planning team, said: “Our team has grown significantly over the past 18 months, and we are delighted to welcome Laura to our ranks.
“During her time with the local authority, Laura gained a thorough understanding of the planning process, taking responsibility for assessing a variety of planning applications, permitted development enquiries, and providing pre-application advice, as well as managing planning appeals and writing statements of case.
“Her experience within the sector, teamed with her knowledge of ever-changing planning legislation and policy and her communication skills, will make her an excellent asset to our department.”
Laura added: “My experience at Malvern Hills District Council has given me a firm foundation within the planning sector and I’m confident that my public sector knowledge will benefit Harris Lamb.
“I’m very familiar with the business due to the crossover with my previous role, and I was attracted to this role because of the diverse range of projects the team oversees and Harris Lamb’s reputation within the planning arena.
“My next career goal is to obtain Chartered membership of the Royal Institute of Town Planning, and the business’s commitment to supporting career progression, teamed with the guidance the team’s knowledge and experience will offer me, will help me achieve that,” she said.
