HARRIS LAMB APPOINTS ZOOLOGY GRADUATE TO SEASONAL ECOLOGIST ROLE

Harris Lamb has expanded its Environment team with the appointment of a seasonal ecologist.

Louis Andrews, who graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Zoology with Study Abroad in July 2019, has joined the department at one of its busiest times.

Holly Smith, Director, said: The coming months are the busiest of the year as we undertake a diverse range of protected species surveys and habitat creation projects for commercial and residential clients. While colleagues from other departments across the business are always keen to provide support, we needed a dedicated member of the team to assist us in our work.

“Having completed a seasonal ecology placement following his graduation, Louis was keen to join us to expand his experience, and we’re looking forward to helping him strengthen his understanding of the field with both practical and desk-based projects.

“The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management has given ecologists the green light to complete field-based work during the Pandemic, provided appropriate safety measures are adhered to, and Louis will be a valuable asset to our team in the coming months.”

Louis added: “Having returned to the Midlands following my graduation last year, I spent the summer providing seasonal support at an Environmental company in Leicestershire and am keen to build on that experience.

“As part of my degree, I spent a year at Texas State University and completed field courses in Scotland and the Galapagos, before going on to expand my experience in carrying out bat emergence and reptile surveys, along with data recording and reporting.

“I am looking forward to gaining more ecology experience in the field and within a professional environment, and the friendly team of specialists at Harris Lamb felt like the perfect fit for me to start my career with good opportunities to develop my skills over the coming months,” he added.
