HOWDENS AND TEKSAN UK MOVE INTO FRANKLEY INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

Commercial agents at Harris Lamb have let three units at a Birmingham business park as demand for industrial space throughout the region continues to rise.

National joinery, kitchen and bathroom specialists Howdens have signed a 15-year lease on two units at Frankley Industrial Estate in Tay Road, while established diesel generator supplier Teksan UK has taken on a 4,900 sq ft warehouse at the site.

Tom Morley, Director at Harris Lamb, said: “Demand for well-appointed, good-quality industrial space in the Midlands continues to outstrip supply, and the landlords of Frankley Industrial Estate recognised that requirement and invested in a refurbishment across the trade park to attract new occupiers.

“The investment has paid off with a number of lettings having been secured since the refurbishment completed. The most recent of these has seen Howdens agree a 15-year lease on units 18 and 19 at the site,” he said.

“It has been a fantastic result to secure another national trade occupier to the Estate. They are in good company and join neighbouring trade business Screwfix, which occupies a unit on the same terrace on the Estate.

“We’ve also just completed the letting of unit 8 to Teksan UK Ltd on a 10-year lease.

“Considering the high levels of demand and distinct lack of product of this standard within the region, units at the Estate are being marketed at a very competitive rental level. As a result, further warehouses are currently under offer and there are just three vacant opportunities remaining on the estate,” he added.

The estate can satisfy requirements from 5,000 to 10,000 sq.ft within its remaining warehouses. Contact Tom on Thomas.morley@harrislamb.com for details or our joint agents Darby Keye
