LAMBS OVERBOARD REIGN SUPREME AT BIRMINGHAM HOSPICE DRAGON BOAT RACE 2026
Team HL has caught the dragon boat bug having taken part in – and won – its first ever race in support of Birmingham Hospice.
Tom Morley, Andrew Hulbert, Nick Empson, Heana Narshi, Laura Saich, Dominic Wilson, Asiya Begum, Ashley Brown, Keira Redfern and Carolyn Quinn took to the water on Friday as one of a number of teams competing in the exhilarating charity water sport challenge, with Henry Hancock expertly – and literally – drumming up support for the crew.

The race, which took place at Brindleyplace over two days, aimed to raise £20,000 to fund specialist end of life care for Midlands people living with a terminal diagnosis.
This was the first time Harris Lamb have taken part in the competition, and the ten-strong team, Lambs Overboard, took to the challenge like, well, like a dragon boat to water, claiming first place.

Tom said: “This was a completely new experience for us, with it being the first time any of us had taken part in this fantastic event. The key to our success was definitely teamwork and technique over brute power.
“As the day went on we, as a collective, got progressively quicker, shaving 12 seconds from out winning run compared to our first as everyone embraced the challenge.
“We had great weather, lots of support, and it was a brilliant environment. Already we’ve said we’ll be taking part next year. It really was a super event for an incredibly important local resource,” he added.
