The 0.234 acre site, 132 Lichfield Street, is currently occupied by the former Equator nightclub, spread across an existing Listed building and historic warehouse along Intown Row, with the proposed 28-apartment scheme combining both a refurbishment of the Listed property and new build accommodation.

The business believes that the ongoing demand for residential development within the Midlands will generate substantial interest in the site, particularly in light of its freehold status, town centre position and close proximity to road and rail links.

James Willcock, of Harris Lamb’s Residential Land team, said: “The last two years have shown that there is extensive interest in residential development opportunities throughout the Midlands and we anticipate this being another such example. Not only is the site well-appointed but it provides the successful purchaser with the chance to work with an historic building to create modern living solutions in the region.

“The site is less than half a mile from Walsall train station, positioned within easy reach of the M5,M6 and M54 motorways and has all of Walsall’s town centre amenities on its doorstep, including the town’s famous Arboretum, schools, recreation facilities and extensive retail offering.

“Planning for the site has been granted by Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council, with Grade II Listed building consent for conversion of the building  and the construction of an apartment block to its rear to create three two-bedroom apartments, 21 one-bedroom apartments and four studio apartments,” he said.
