PLANNING SECURED FOR OVER 90,000 SQ FT OF WAREHOUSING IN DROITWICH

Industrial and logistics (I&L) property company, Potter Space, has received planning consent for new industrial units at its Droitwich business park.

Situated at the Worcestershire site, the plans will see Potter Space develop up to three new industrial units. The rear of the site has obtained outline planning for 75,000 sq. ft. up to a height of 15 metres and detailed planning has been obtained for a 21,000 sq. ft. industrial unit, with a haunch height of 10 metres.

Harris Lamb oversaw the application, which was registered with the local authority in January 2023.

Part of Potter Space’s £18 million investment into the area, the new industrial units will be constructed to sustainable standards, achieving a BREAAM ‘Very Good’ rating as a minimum on completion, and an EPC rating ‘A’.

Jenna Strover, head of commercial delivery at Potter Space, said: “The success of these recent applications goes to show that the local authorities understand our aim to give back to our community by creating more ‘Homes for Business’, as well as quality jobs. Our vision is to create sustainable industrial units that will stand the test of time, constructed using techniques that will minimise the impact on the environment. We are excited to be bringing more industrial and logistics space to Droitwich and look forward to continuing to support the community that we have been a part of for over 40 years.”

Josie Hobbs, who led the applications for Harris Lamb Planning Consultancy, said: “We are delighted to have been able to support Potter Space in delivering more opportunities at the park, thereby providing further employment opportunities within the region.

“We are particularly pleased to have secured these permissions within the Green Belt. We have an excellent track record of working closely with local authorities to ensure that any concerns and policy are met, minimising any impact on the environment, and utilising land already in an established employment park.

“We look forward to continuing to work alongside Potter Space to improve the park and support its commitment to delivering quality industrial solutions as part of its five-year growth plan.”
