EASY, TIGER

A select few of the Harris Lamb ladies were delighted to attend a fundraising dinner in aid of Rugby For Heroes and the Matt Hampson Foundation this week.

Held at Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road home, the Ladies event was the first in the Jordan Crane Testimonial and sought to celebrate the rugby player’s career while raising funds for two very worthy causes.

Fiona Mellor, Kristie Loakes, Julie Sanders and Suzi Marshall represented Harris lamb and were among 400 other women raising thousands for both causes.

Fiona said: “There’s a real passion for rugby within the business and we were delighted to have the chance to meet some of the heroes we’ve supported on the field while finding out more about these important causes.

“The Matt Hampson Foundation provides advice, support, relief and treatment for anyone suffering serious injury or disability, particularly those received in participating in or training for sport, while Rugby for Heroes works with the rugby community to raise funds and awareness for military personnel who are making the transition to civilian life.

“While we were aware in broad terms of what both organisations do, it was great to find out more about the work they do and to pledge our support. The auction alone raised more than £10,000 and we look forward to finding out just how successful this event was.
