James of our Licensed and Leisure team was lucky enough to attend the Morning Advertiser’s Publican Awards 2018  this week, having been a judge for the accolades.

James was a judge in the  best accommodation award, and attended the ceremony at Battersea Evolution to see the winners unveiled.

Presided over by the brilliant Rob Brydon, the event was a fantastic opportunity to mingle with the great and good within the pub world.

James said: “The whole night was just superb. As you’d imagine, Rob Brydon was a fantastic host, and the venue and entertainment were first class. It was a great opportunity for those at the top of the pub game to celebrate their achievements.

“The highlight for me was seeing the reaction of Anglican Country Inns, the winners of my category. They were genuinely ecstatic when they were called to the stage and I was delighted for them – really well done to them for a well-deserved award in a very strong field.

“I was also thrilled for our good friends at Star Pubs and Bars, who also came out on top of the Best Tenanted/Leased Pub Co with over 500 sites, so hearty congratulations to them on that well-earned achievement.”

Roll on next year…
