YEEMAN SHUM JOINS HARRIS LAMB’S BUSINESS RATES TEAM

Harris Lamb has appointed an experienced new surveyor to its Rating team as the business ramps up operations ahead of the forthcoming 2026 Revaluation.

Yeeman Shum joins the business from Cushman & Wakefield, holding a LLB Law degree from Aston University and a Master’s degree in Real Estate from the University College of Estates Management, which she secured along with her RICS APC while working with JLL to become a Chartered a surveyor and Registered Valuer.

Andrew Hulbert, Director, said: “Yeeman has a passion for property and is a highly committed individual, as demonstrated by her successes in achieving both a Master’s degree and Chartered status while working in her first full-time role within the sector.

“She has a thorough understanding of the Business Rates system, having acted for a diverse portfolio of clients in the 2023 Rating List, providing them with strategic advice to optimise their rates liabilities, and contributed to the successful negotiation of rating appeals, achieving positive outcomes in time-sensitive cases.

“Her enthusiasm for supporting clients and reducing their Rateable Values, teamed with her her determination to advance her experience, leaves us in no doubt that Yeeman is going to become an invaluable member of our team. Given the extremely busy period ahead, with the forthcoming Budget and the 2026 Revaluation being less than six months away, we are thrilled to welcome her to the team,” Andrew said.

Yeeman said: “Having worked in the property sector since 2021 experiencing different disciplines including Valuation, Property Management and Corporate Estates Management, I found my niche working within the Business Rates field. I was drawn to Harris Lamb because of its strong presence in the Midlands and the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals within the Rating team, working across a diverse range of assets.
