A SNEAK PEEK INSIDE THE BRILLIANT MIND OF CAPABILITY BROWN

Harris Lamb hosted a client event with a difference this week, combining a meet-and-greet opportunity for Shropshire professionals with a guided tour of the stunning Capability Brown-designed gardens at Weston Park.

Jo Williams, of the business’ Telford-based Building Consultancy team, organised the event, which saw guests explore the established four-acre garden with Anna Krapivina, Head Gardener at the Estate.

Guests were given an insight into the history of the buildings, house and grounds, including an ancient over 400-year-old horse chestnut tree and a sensory experience that has been created with special plants in the conservatory.

All of the grounds’ features are set within a carefully designed landscape on a grand scale featuring lakes and tunnels, created centuries ago without the use of modern machines and equipment and appearing untouched by human intervention.

Jo said: “I wanted to arrange a client event that would stand apart from the usual formula, and we had a really enthusiastic response to this. Anna is incredibly knowledgeable and took us on a journey through the past and present of these remarkable gardens, as well as sharing what the future of the fabulous grounds holds.

“Our Head of Valuation, Fiona Mellor, and Elliot Ward of our Agency team joined me to host guests from businesses across Shropshire and the Midlands, all of whom joined Anna for a two-course lunch in a private dining room. Our meal was created with ingredients grown within the gardens, and we all agreed it was absolutely delicious.”

Fiona added: “This was an opportunity for us all to get to know more about one of the country’s most famous country gardens, while building stronger relationships with our guests. We’re glad that we’ve had such a positive response from everyone who joined us, and we’d like to thank them for taking the time to attend, and to Anna and the brilliant Weston Park team for their hospitality.”
