Harris Lamb’s Agency team have have let a plot of commercial development land in Birmingham to a business specialising in providing ready-for-occupation storage yards.

The business has let Plot B of Tameside Business Park in Perry Barr to Philips Yards Birmingham Ltd, a franchisee of getYards; an innovative concept aimed at helping SMEs rent storage yards within a matter of minutes.

The 1.79-acre self contained open storage yard, which has a secure, gated palisade fenced perimeter and a modern portacabin-style office building on site, has been snapped up by the business on a 10-year lease with a five-year break clause.

Thomas Morley, who oversaw the deal, said: “getYards is a very new concept which provides ready-to-move-into commercial storage yards. The franchisee will divide the land parcel up into separate area which a customer can reserve and pay for a getYards yard in under 60 seconds with a legally binding contact, as well as taking occupation the same day.

“This particular site was ideal for such an opportunity due to its established commercial location, and its surfaced, serviced, floodlit and secure credentials ensuring that the business can offer its tenants its standard 24/7 security, electric gates, pin code access, individual electric/water points offering, in addition to  options of supplying containers, offices or CCTV into individual yards.

“It is also strategically appointed, with convenient access to the UK motorway network –Junction 6 of the M6 lies approximately 3.5 miles while Junction 7 is three miles away, and to the city centre, which is four miles from the site. Birmingham Airport is located 15 miles to the Southeast.

“We are delighted to have secured this exciting new occupier and wish them every success in rolling out the concept within the region,” he added.
